Normal is Bh4 which keeps the pin and forces Black to play Qe8 to break it. Black is often reluctant to play g5 as once f5 is played there is no pawn recapture. However, Be3 does exert more pressure on the the queenside and c5. 10... Nh7 11. O-O f5 12. f3 f4 13. Bf2 h5 14. a3 Bd7 15. Rb1 Bh6 16. b4 axb4 17. axb4 Rf7 with the idea of sitting behind the g-pawn, also useful for defending the 7th rank. 18. c5 Rg7 19. cxd6 cxd6 20. Nc4 Be8 21. Nb6?! the knight tends to get in the way on b6. Keeping it on c4 allows it to go back to d2 and help out with the defence 21. b5 Nc7 22. Bb6 looks better for White 21... Rb8 22. Qb3 g5 23. Bb5 g4 24. fxg4 hxg4 White's pieces have got in each other's way on the queenside, and is about to face an assault on her King 25. Nc4 Trying to hold back Black with 25. g3 only causes more problems 25... Ng5 26. Nc4 Bxb5 27. Nxb5 Nf3+ 28. Kg2 (28. Kh1 Rh7! 29. Bb6 Qd7 30. Nbxd6 fxg3-/+) 28... Qe8 29. Ncxd6 Qh5 30.
